About Goushala

The Brindavan Goushala of Sri Adi Shankaracharya Sharada Lakshminarasimha Peetam Sreemath Hariharapura is a dedicated shelter for cows located in Hariharapura. The Goushala currently provides shelter for approximately 200 local native cows.
As an initiative in line with the teachings of Sri Adi Shankaracharya, who emphasized the importance of protecting cows, the Brindavan Goushala serves as a haven for these sacred animals. Native breeds of cows are given priority, as they possess unique genetic traits and cultural significance. By providing a safe and nurturing environment for these cows, the Goushala aims to preserve the legacy of these native breeds and promote their conservation.
